The Lockdown Lens

Sacred Games Bunty

Time was never so difficult to pass when the lockdown started worldwide. Being an out and about person, I had dreaded the days to being spent inside home. I love being outside, whether it be any shoots or with friends, I have always encouraged myself to be out in the world and exploring. And then the lockdown happened! I saw the internet flooding with people making cooking videos, artworks and what not! Even I did those to match the trends. But after a certain time, there was a realization that I have never wanted to do it myself- rather it was just an imitation of what everyone started doing in the lockdown. I had kind of self-realization that I actually don’t need to do these things to be productive in lockdown.

I started by educating myself. I have always believed that no man is too old to stop learning- I took up interest on the Indian politics, the demographic knowledge; I got to know the plight of the less privileged people who lost their jobs, numerous losing their life. It was such an overwhelming and extreme emotion to learn such things- to learn what surrounds us. At that point of time, I came to understand that when everyone is so much absorbed in their own lives, achievements and tragedy, we have to care about our surroundings, our economy and our country as well. We have to be enlightened about what the world really is in a greater picture!

Meanwhile, I had the most beautiful time being so close to my parents in Delhi. I loved to observe their lifestyle. I was elated seeing how their habits, routines and good morals have perfectly spun and made me the person I am today. I had learnt to observe nature and how minutely things have changed and yet followed the exact same routine from time unknown. Be it the sunrise and sunsets, or the starry night, or even small crickets humming melodies, they had all left me awestruck and content in a very enigmatic manner!

On the work front, it was difficult to gulp down the facts that personalities like Rishi Kapoor, Irfan Khan and Sushant Singh left us in such difficult times when there was no proper convenience to bid them the farewell they deserved. Our biggest launch anticipated in the Indian History “83”, whose trailer was to be launched in a stadium- also was postponed due to the pandemic. We are planning to release it after the current situations subside. Because the movie holds such importance in shaping the current Indian team that it truly deserves applaud in the cinemas. The whole cast has worked very hard for it, and I hope the Indian audience find the justice being done to such a historic event.

I would like to conclude with a single thing that- “We have to aware of ourselves a lot more than we are, introspection being the best key”. Take care of yourselves and the world around you, because it is the only thing that truly matters. I would like to thank this platform for the amazing job it is doing and hearing the stories people have in their hearts. Thank you.
