My Story of Quarantine

Hello everyone, I hope this message finds you all happy and healthy. We have all been passing through this excruciating period but let’s hope that better times come soon.

I remember the day exactly when the lockdown was announced. Initially I was really worried that what would I do sitting home all the time doing nothing except helping my Mom with her chores. But with every day passing by, I realized that for the safety of people it was a much needed act to be practiced. Soon after that, I loved being at home. I got sufficient time to explore my hobbies and create music.

I have been learning music and performing on stage since the last five years. I really wanted to utilize my time in doing something productive, so I started recording few of my own compositions which will be out pretty soon. After I finished recording my own compositions, I decided to record one of my favorite songs which is (Agar Tum Saath Ho from the movie Tamasha).

To be honest I was not going to upload it because I just recorded it to pass my time, but when I shared the audio with few of my close friends they loved it and told me to post the song. Taking their opinion into consideration I uploaded the song with a video and it was very well received. People started messaging me their kind words and appreciated my work, I was really grateful and overwhelmed. At that day I learned a lesson that if you think that your art is good then don’t just keep it in the box only because of being afraid of criticism or thinking that people will make fun of you, just show it to the world and spread love.

My lockdown was all about calling old friends, spending time with family, watching movies, video calling best friends and learning and creating music. One of my mentors always advised me to compose a song according to the feel of the song rather than showing off your technical skills which might destroy the feel and the charm of the it.

What I think is that if you are doing music just for being cool or to earn fame then it’s useless. I have been doing music to express my feelings and it is the only thing that enlightens my soul. At last I wish this pandemic ends soon and our live get back to the normal like it was before the chronic outreach of this Pandemic. I would like to thank all the doctors, nurses and the people who are working so hard to serve the citizens and trying to bring this situation under control.

Yours truly,
