So, where do I begin?
We are well aware how 2020 has turned out so far.
Let me begin on a positive note by saying that I’m grateful to be safe and healthy so far.
Now, getting to the hard part.
I have been sailing with my husband for five years now. We're both in the merchant navy. I was all set to join him in March.
But it seems the universe had other plans for us.The virus had already hit India by then and I couldn’t join him. I haven’t seen him this year as he joined his ship in December, 2019.
If there’s one thing this Lockdown is teaching me, it’s Patience and Acceptance! I have to accept the fact that I can’t sail right now and that I have to just wait patiently for the international flights to resume, so my husband can return home safely, to me.
In the meantime, I have kept myself busy by posting mimicry videos. My culinary skills have also improved a lot.
The highlight of this Lockdown was when one of my mimicry videos went viral and so many colleagues and school mates contacted me. It felt so good. It helped me cope and stay more positive and just carry on with a smile!
At a time like the present, it’s so important to spread laughter and joy around. I enjoy making people laugh and that’s what I have done since April. I email all my videos to my husband at sea and he has a good laugh too. This Virus has taken over the world and we can’t change that, but we can learn to adapt and look forward to a better tomorrow!
In the meantime, don’t forget to wear a mask and wash your hands.
Peace out!
