I am lockdown.
I was celebrated for the first time in the modern world in 2001. There was a lockdown on the civilian airspace of the United States for 3 days due to a terrorist attack on 11th September.
After that, I was imposed several times all over the world but Indian people came to know about me for the first time when the Indian government announced a lockdown on 25th March 2020
Due to the dangerous coronavirus pandemic, the government imposed lockdown 1.0 for 21 days. So, I was introduced to India for 21 days, at first.
This was our first attack on the corona. At first, many people liked me a lot. They watched Ramayan/Mahabharat and various other programs, made Dalgona coffee, drew pictures and sketches, and fulfilled all sorts of desires because they had a lot of time because of me.
At the same time, many other people were jogging and exercising. Workers, on the other hand, started scolding me non-stop. They were deprived of their homes, income, and their families were left destitute.
Corona was spreading exponentially and again government used me as a weapon against it.
After workers, the traders and businessmen scolded me for their losses and defamation.
At the same time, the state of Odisha was about to witness it's regular visitor 'The Cyclone' from the Bay of Bengal.
Some ultra-brave people who used to walk out of their home without respecting me, they started staying at home because 'Amphan - The Cyclone', made them stay at home.
No one respects me anymore.
Young children loved me a lot.
My friends who are policemen and cops were guarding me and providing security all the time.
I have now entered into the 4th stage of my life i.e., Lockdown 4.0.
People are disrespecting me even more, now. Everyone has started going back to the old accelerated and busy life.
I will become an unforgettable memory of your life. Some will remember me in their happiness and some will remember me in their sorrow but I feel that up to some extent, I have slowed down the entire routine, fast-paced and busy life of the people and I believe my purpose was fulfilled.
Jai Jagannath
