Lockdown Hobbies

Shreny Shah

I was a girl who was known for her laziness in society and family. Getting up early and cooking was never my cup of tea. So as they say " If you can't wake up early you can't do anything in your life." And similarly, a girl should know cooking. No matter how much money she owns.
So this lockdown took me to the kitchen and I started experimenting with food. From Rajasthani & Chinese fusion to traditional recipes I've learnt so many things. My family was happy with this and so was I. But as life never fails to give you lemons, lockdown did something same to me. Once while cooking something I burnt the food and vessel too. Everyone was angry with me except my mom. I then thought cooking was not my cup of tea.
Then I thought to wake up early and do yoga. Maybe that would help me in maintaining concentration. But even while doing yoga I wasn't able to focus. So an impatient girl growing wings thought to do something else.
Then I tried wall painting, planting and what not. But every hobby lasted for less than two weeks.
Then my mom made me realize that I should practice, focus and have patience in whatever I'm doing. Without it, no one would be able to grasp what they are doing.
And the same applies to this pandemic. We should practice staying at home. Have a focus on guidelines about mask and sanitizer and importantly have patience about this. It is definitely taking some time. But one day we all will be free to go wherever we want.
