This Lockdown has been a learning phase for me and I hope that its the same for everyone else too. For me it gave a chance to recognize my hidden hobby - clicking self portrait photographs. I have always loved to take pictures of me all by myself and the joy it gives me is extraordinary.
Honestly I was someone who didn't really have a hobby. It was just me , waking up in the morning, getting ready, and going work , where I used to do the same monotonous work until it’s time to leave.
During lockdown, one day I was really bored and didn't do what I am supposed to do. I got dressed and started clicking pictures . Those pictures turned out to be so good.
My friends and family praised me and to their surprise those pictures was actually captured by me myself without any professional camera, without any tripod , in fact I used the back camera of a smartphone. This thing made me realize that we can make the best out of least. We do not necessarily have to own expensive equipment in order to pursue a hobby.
Just make it a habit , it's no secret that we get better and better with repetition.
The more I clicked my self portraits the more I gained my confidence . I did conceptual shoots from whatever I had at home.. it's pretty therapeutic..
I Became confident enough to start a page on Instagram and share my pictures which helped me connect with like minded people and of course feedback from different people that helps you to improve.
Another interesting thing I learnt during this lockdown is cooking. I actually didn't know that I could make mayonnaise easily at home with simple ingredients. Similarly I've made cakes , cookies , pizzas , pedas and I enjoyed it
I also have started appreciating and being grateful for all the things that I have in my life which we sometimes tend to take for granted. The food , the shelter , beautiful nature etc.
The lockdown really helped me in rediscovering my hobbies and since then there is no looking back.
