A heart,
A mind,
A body,
Or just the courage and love for your own country?
What it takes to fight,
Holding that INSAS or LMG or AK-47,
And stand strong and tall on the mountain top and say,
"This belongs to my country."
Not once had you thought of all that is left behind,
Far away from this mountain,
Beyond those glaciers,
There is a home with a family, lovingly praying and so waiting for you.
You fought,
And you saw your best friend taking a bullet right through his chest,
And you shot two more rounds accurately,
But didn't cry over the loss of that mate, who was with you since your academy days.
And all of this,
Just to see the Tri colour high up, at the highest peak.
Every soldier in the uniform and Every civilian of this country is grateful,
For what you did in 1999,
Thank you for providing us a safer 2020.
You missed your tomorrow,
For our today.
And we're indebted to your sacrifices, for life❤️
