After spending 6 months in Indore, finally, I was back home on March 17.
Well, it wasn't because of COVID-19, I was finished with my exams by then.
The pleasant smells of the countryside, the green cover, and the mountains filled me up with deep satisfaction and relaxation after months. My home is located in Umaria, a small district of MP where we live in a small colony surrounded by mountains, villages, and lakes. Hailing from here, it's hard for me to stay in polluted cities. I always wish to spend my life "peacefully" in such a place.
If only l had a little idea about this lockdown, I definitely would have carried two-three bags filled up with books while back home. You guessed it right! I love reading books.
It has been long since people called me Raaj, it's Tashiv actually. I couldn't wait any longer.
The very first-day l met my friends and we roamed everywhere while we were talking, sharing and laughing the whole time. Such a pleasant day!
Four days later, all of a sudden we were in the lockdown. Fortunately, this area was always in the green zone, so nothing much changed and the situation here is better than many parts of the country. However, we stopped going out and avoided physical contact, which means no outdoor sports too. I always loved playing cricket, badminton, chess, and Kabaddi. So now when things are more back to normal few of us get up at 5 every morning to play cricket.
I'm 16 years old and l was always interested in astronomy, later I started working as a climate activist and also being a little politically active. During the lockdown, I'm spending much of my time reading books and have also ordered a few more books. Other than that I play cricket for 3 hours in the morning and chess sometimes.
I have always watched documentaries, so after watching more than thousands I realized their importance in shaping my life. Each day for me feels like the smallest day of the year. I'm never satisfied with learning new things so the quest for knowledge keeps me busy all day. Every morning with the moderate cold breeze blowing and classical music in the background, l sit in a chair with a book. The mornings cannot get better than this.
I'm more relaxed, focused and healthy now, reading, watching, writing, and playing.
All thanks to the Lockdown for this amazing time.
